Denial (1)

The pain in the side of my lower stomach was almost unbearable. I reached down and felt something wet and warm. When I brought my hand up it was covered with blood.
I fell into my husbands warm arms and they accepted me. "Don't let me go," I said looking up into his unsmiling green eyes. He nodded. I put my hand on his face. "Never let me go."
"Never," he promised. My hand then felt wet with his tears. "Never."
That's when the pain did become unbearable. Then there was only black.
